Welcome to WAHRI

The Western Australian Herbicide Resistance Initiative (WAHRI) is a research leader in herbicide resistance in Australia's broadacre cropping industry.

WAHRI conducts basic and applied research on many aspects of herbicide resistance and its management in Australian cropping systems.  In partnership with the farming community and industry, WAHRI is tasked with delivering research outcomes and key messages for sustainable crop management.

The WAHRI research team is funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) and the Australian Research Council (ARC).  WAHRI is located in the School of Plant Biology, Faculty of Natural & Agricultural Sciences, The University of Western Australia.
